"Robinson, Sandra (Fogg)" Date published: 06/21/2006 "Sandra Fogg Robinson, 66, of Scottsville, died on June 17, 2006, of cancer. She is survived by David Robinson, her husband of 39 years, and two sons, Matthew Robinson (Sarah) of Hopkinton, MA and Dale (Sandra) Strang of Kentfield, CA. An inspirational teacher in the Rochester area for nearly four decades, Sandra was universally loved by her family, students, friends and others whose lives she touched. Sandra taught advanced English at Fairport High School for 31 years, where she was recognized as one of New York's outstanding teachers. She also taught in Plymouth, MA, East Lansing, MI and at Monroe Community College. She served nine years on the Wheatland Chili School Board and was active in Women Helping Girls of Greater Rochester. An alumna of West Irondequoit High School, she was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Rochester and earned a Masters degree at Harvard University. Sandra's generous spirit extended beyond her profession. She established life-long ties to young people and families from Spain, France, Japan, Finland and other countries. Her home was their home and her family was their family on this side of the ocean. In addition to her husband and sons, Sandra is survived by her parents, Jack and Vera Fogg of Irondequoit; her sister, Karen (Richard) Saudek of Montpelier, VT; her brother, Jack (Gurine) Fogg of Whitinsville, MA; two granddaughters, four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law and their families, 23 nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by both parents-in-law. Friends may call on Saturday, June 24, from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Avenue, Rochester. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 12 at a place to be announced. A scholarship fund for outstanding Fairport High School students has been created in Sandra's memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sandra Fogg Robinson Scholarship Fund, Fairport High School, 1358 Ayrault Rd., Fairport, NY 14450."
