You may recognize this author's name from local publications such as
"About...Time," but Marsha Jones is best known for her 411 column in
the Buffalo Challenger magazine which she is now turning into a book.
"Basically it's a book that highlights over my 20-year career, the
different celebrity interviews I've done here in Rochester," says
Martha Jones. |

Interviews like with the late Betty Shabazz. "She was very open, very
giving, it was kind of like talking to my bigger sister. There were a lot
of things that she told me about her relationship with Malcolm X that you
never really saw in print, so there are things that I put in there, and
there are things that I just respected her memories and didn't put in
there. She was a great interview."
Writing is sometimes not an easy task for this wife and mother. Right now
she attends classes at Writer's and Books. "Actually sitting down to write
it is very lonely and a very intimidating process and the class kind of
demystified that for me."
Marsha's drive for the art of writing has her working on a romance novel
called "Love Begins With Truth."
"This book is a very humorous romantic truth between friends."
Born in Brooklyn, Marsha attended Fairport High School, traveled and has a
degree in journalism. But it's the little things her family does around
the house that capture her writing.
"We have paper strategically located all over the house."
Oh, did I mention Marsha can sing?
"I karaoke sing."
And also established herself by writing several short stories.
